Every week we offer our guests a programme of free guided excursions — designed for those who want to experience the Gulf of Diano and the Impero Valley properly, not from a sun lounger, but at the pace of someone who actually knows these places. Authentic Mediterranean countryside, ancient dry-stone terraces, ridgelines poised between sea and valley, century-old olive groves that scent the air. A territory to be crossed, not merely admired.

Hiking (Tuesday and Thursday). Circular routes of moderate difficulty — 6 to 7 km, around two hours — along paths that connect the coast to the inland hills, through terraced olive groves, dry-stone walls and rural hamlets. The trails follow old mule tracks between pine forests and open ridges, with views over Cervo from above, the terraced slopes of Chiappa and the hamlet of Bestagnolo — stone upon stone, memory intact — or the hillside of San Bartolomeo, where the sea appears between the trees. Every route has the same quiet thread: the scent of Mediterranean scrub and a rhythm that slows things down.

E-bike (Monday and Friday). Guided rides along the coastal cycle path, rural lanes and off-road tracks leading into the interior. The electric assist makes the climbs towards hilltop villages manageable for most fitness levels, opening up panoramas between sea and cultivated hillside that are otherwise hard to reach. Bikes are available to hire from partner shops at a reduced rate for our guests.

Guided village tours (Sunday and Wednesday). Cervo, Diano Castello, Villa Faraldi, the Sanctuary of Montegrazie with its remarkable cycle of frescoes dating from 1483, the dome of the Cathedral of Porto Maurizio. Each visit lasts around two hours and takes in the places that standard tourist guides tend to overlook: the underground lone passages of Diano Castello, the historic olive mill of Riva Faraldi, the bastions built to defend against Barbary pirates, the churches of Cervo’s coral fishermen. Stories of feudal lords, rural communities and people who built a life between sea and mountain with patience and ingenuity.
